The sweet memory of the holy Trekking to Kudajadri  Hills My son’s ( niveith s maheswaran) is introduced into the world of alphabets as he takes his first step into the world of knowledge . Initiation of knowledge, (Vidyarambham) at Sri Kollur Mookambika temple located in the state of Karnataka, is very famous and auspicious for this ceremony as the shrine is the abode of Goddess Saraswathi. The learning starts with writing the mantra "Om hari sri ganapataye namah", in which Hari refers to the Lord and Sri, to prosperity. After that ceremony we had (my wife, son- two and half year - her mother and father and her 3 year old sister daughter) made trek to Kudajadri  which  is a mountain peak with dense forests (altitude - 1343 metres above sea level in the Western Ghats in South India (Shimoga Dist., Karnataka State). It is located at a distance of 21 km from Kollur and 15 km from Karaghatta (the place where the trekking starts). We have decided to reach Kudajadri

Royal splendour Atham, the day which heralds the 10-day Onam festivities, is celebrated with great enthusiasm at Tripunithura. In earlier times, the Athachamayam Festival was celebrated in honour of the Raja of Kochi. On the festival day, the Maharaja undertook the ritualistic Attachamayam march from Tripunithura to the Vamanamoorthy Temple in Thrikkakara. He then offered his special prayers there. The grand parade made a halt at the royal quarters at Puthen Bungalow enroute, and later marched towards the sprawling Hill Palace compound. The Maharaja gave 'darshan' to his innumerable citizens during this day. Representatives from all communities accompanied the Kochi Maharaja during Athachamayam. They included a priest from Karingachira Church, head priest of the mosque Nettur Thangal, and Chembil Arayan, a representative of the fisher folk.Today, a senior representative of the Cochin royal family, alongwith the other two religious leaders, jointly flag off the ceremony. Nivedh.S. Maheswaran Why Celebrate krishna's birthday  Janmashtami celebrates the birth of krishna. Ashtami , the  half- moon, indicates a perfect balance between the seen and unseen aspects of reality , the visible material world and invisible spiritual realm. Krishna's birth on ashtami signifies his  mastery of both spiritual and  material worlds. His teaching are most relevant to our times in the sense that they neither let you lost in material pursuits nor make you completely withdrawn. To celebrate gokulashtami is to imbibe extremely opposite yet compatible qualities and manifest them in your own life.        Krishna simply means the most attractive - the self or the being . Radheshyam represents infinity. Radhe is individual life and shyam is infinite life. Krishna is the self of every being and when our true natural self shines through our personality, skills and abundance follow. It is said that krishna used to steal butter ; what does this signify ? Butter is
Imperfection is merely the signature of a unique individual.
